Sumedh Deshpande

Sumedh enjoys thinking about the intersection of culture, technology and business. He derives a great deal of joy from discovering new consumer insights and is an unwavering believer in Indian dynamism. At Sorin, Sumedh focuses on helping founders building the next generation of iconic consumer brands and novel B2B business models.

Prior to joining Sorin, Sumedh spent nearly 4 years as an early-stage consumer investor at Fireside Ventures and DSG Consumer Partners. He was also the founder of Daybreak, a VC-backed consumer brand in the oral care category—an experience that helps him bring an operational lens to the art of venture investing. Sumedh began his career at D.E. Shaw & Co.’s India offices where he initiated research coverage of several large-cap Indian equities for the firm’s brokerage operation.

Sumedh holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in management studies from Mumbai University.
