Mandar Dandekar

Mandar is a Partner and founding member of Sorin where he leads the firm’s investments drawing upon nearly two decades of rich and diverse experience in venture capital, private equity, and technology consulting. His investment career has given him exposure to the entire lifecycle of the investment process from sourcing to evaluation, deal closure, board representation, and driving exits.

He often spends his time analyzing new technologies, emerging trends, business models, and changes in user adoption and user behaviour as a way to connect the dots and unearth the next big investible sector or company.

Prior to Sorin, Mandar spent close to a decade at VC firm Kalaari Capital where he played a part in helping several companies reach success including Dream11, Elasticrun, Jumbotail, Agnext, Healthplix, Stanplus and many others. He also helped drive exits of Dream11 (large partial secondary), Myntra (acquired by Flipkart), Robosoft (acquired by Technopro) and Perpule (acquired by Amazon).

He was also previously with Tata Capital Innovations Fund, a $60M early growth fund where he led investments across many sectors and geographies and working in technology consulting in the US and India with Cognizant Technology Solutions. Mandar started his career with Tata Power Company Limited in their strategic electronics division where he built complex software applications for Indian Defence.
